Director of Safety and Security Named

The Weatherford ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved Bruno Dias as the district’s Director of Safety and Security at their July 16, 2018 Regular Meeting. Dias has more than seventeen years of law enforcement and corporate security experience including serving as Police Commander for the Seaside Police Department in Seaside, California and most recently as Corporate Security Investigations Manager for General Motors Financial.

“Weatherford ISD is excited about the addition of Bruno Dias as the Director of Safety and Security for the district. Mr. Dias brings experience from the field of law enforcement and corporate security to this new position for WISD,” said Dr. Jeffrey Hanks, superintendent of schools. “I am impressed with his qualifications, but even more impressed by his desire to ensure a safe learning environment for all students and staff. I am proud of our Board of Trustees for taking this additional step as we continue to improve upon the multiple safety tiers that are in place across the district.”

Mr. Dias holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Bellevue University in Nebraska and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Ashworth College in Georgia.

“I am excited to be part of a school district that recognizes and prioritizes the importance proactive safety measures have in today’s world.” Mr. Dias said. “I am looking forward to leveraging my educational and professional experience to help WISD achieve our mission of providing a safe and nurturing environment to our students, staff and visitors.”
