Bus Information for Rio Brazos/Horseshoe Bend Families & Red Cross Shelter

Tomorrow morning, First Student will pick up students from the Rio Brazos neighborhood at Mary's Cafe. Students living in Horseshoe Bend will be picked up at the corner of Bethel and Horseshoe Bend. Parents should plan to have their children at these locations by 6:15 am.

Weatherford ISD is fortunate to be able to provide a safe location that can be used to temporarily house families in the event of a neighborhood evacuation. The American Red Cross is working with Weatherford ISD staff to create a temporary shelter for families who must leave their homes due to flooding.

The Ninth Grade Center Activity Center is a separate building at our Ninth Grade Center campus. Families will be supervised by American Red Cross personnel and WISD staff during their stay. Parking is available in the area south of Kangaroo Stadium adjacent to the Raymond E. Curtis baseball field. Families taking shelter in this facility will not have access to our Ninth Grade Center campus.

Our thoughts are with those families who have been displaced from their homes. Weatherford ISD encourages our families to monitor local news stations for the most current road conditions, avoid walking or driving into high water, and follow instructions issued by emergency personnel.
