A Message from the Superintendent

Dear WISD Family,

Today is an exciting day as approximately 500 WHS students prepare to play or perform at the world-renowned AT&T Stadium. As we all prepare to make our way to Arlington, we need to let you know about an issue that occurred late yesterday afternoon involving a possible threat to Weatherford High School. The police were immediately contacted and initiated an investigation.

Although the threat was not deemed credible based upon the investigation, Weatherford ISD in partnership with the Weatherford Police Department, took additional precautions to ensure our high school was safe for students and staff.

We take all perceived threats seriously and immediately refer to law enforcement for criminal investigation and prosecution.

While we cannot elaborate on the details regarding the person or persons responsible for this threat, we do want to assure you this issue has been resolved. The safety of our students and staff will always be our highest priority and we will take every precaution when we receive concerning information.

This is a great day for our students and staff and we invite you to join us at AT&T Stadium this afternoon as we show support for our outstanding students.
