WHS Floral Design Class Announces Floral Arrangement of the Month Club

Are you looking for a way to spruce up your office or to surprise someone with an unexpected gift? Weatherford High School has the solution!

Our WHS Floral Design class is in its sixth year of providing students additional design experience while providing community members a good product at a great price. This program is known as the "Floral Arrangement of the Month Club." Each month an appropriately themed arrangement will be designed and arranged by WHS students.

“This program provides community members with a beautiful product at a great price,” said Amber Jennings who teachers the class. “Students get hands on learning opportunities every month and also get to create a wide variety of design types that range from using basic to more advance techniques and styles. In addition to creating a product to sell, students also learn real-world skills such as ordering, pricing, marketing, and customer service. Students may also obtain their Texas State Florist Certification through this course.”

On top of the monthly service the class also creates designs for prom boutonnieres and corsages, Valentines bouquets, Mother’s Day corsages, and holiday wreaths sold at Christmas on the Square. They even accept a few wedding and banquet jobs each year. So in one class a high school student can find a passion, learn life skills, and provide a service to our community. This class is a prime example of the variety of courses available to students at Weatherford High School.
