Weatherford ISD Announces Healthy Kids Summer Lunch Program

Healthy Kids is administered by the Weatherford ISD Child Nutrition department in partnership with area churches including First Baptist Church in Horseshoe Bend, First Methodist Church in Weatherford, Grace First Presbyterian Church, Messiah Lutheran Church, New River Fellowship, and North Side Baptist Church who provide volunteers to deliver meals each day.  Julie Enlow serves as the WISD volunteer coordinator for the program.

Over the course of the summer, children will enjoy a variety of hot baked entrées – including taco sticks, pizza, and sandwiches – along with fruits and vegetables. Funded through a Texas Department of Agriculture program, the meals are prepared by the school district and meet all federal and state nutrition guidelines.

Meals will be served at 11:30 am at the following locations:

  • Cherry Park, 302 West Lee Avenue
  • Curtis Elementary, 501 W. Russell Street
  • Horseshoe Bend First Baptist Church, 7156 Brazos Trail
