“Bringing my passion for learning to the classroom every day is the greatest contribution I can give my students,” Evans said. “My love for the social studies is the avenue I chose to make a difference in the lives of my students, giving them the ability to think critically and become problem solvers; so that, they will become productive citizens.
“Beyond developing projects, leading field trips and organizing assemblies for my students, I feel success when a face full of questions or confusion changes to a face of understanding,” she added. “That is a rewarding accomplishment. Out of my passion for teaching and being a part in the lives of a special group of young people, great things come. Satisfaction comes when I see students grow into more mature and responsible people. How exciting it was when I heard from Tiffany, a former student. She thanked me for being her role model and because of me she was starting her own journey to become a teacher. When you impact someone’s life to that extent, that is an accomplishment.”
