“I believe I have been called in my life to be an educator,” she said. “There is not another career I’ve ever felt drawn to. I have known from an early age that this is what I am meant to do and it brings me joy to be able to do this job.
“In sixth grade, I knew I wanted to be a teacher,” she added. “I had a close bond with one of my middle school teachers. She showed me that education is an amazing career path and that the opportunities for success are endless with your students. Every student mattered to her just as every one of my students matter to me. My parents always supported my dream and they worked tirelessly to provide me with every opportunity they could to make sure I could become a teacher. In fact, I was the first person from my family to graduate from college to pursue a career. I have a strong desire to make a change and watch students grow. “
Davis also said that one of her favorite parts of this profession is that each year is a fresh start.
“I enjoy watching my students blossom and grow throughout the year,” she said. “I also like that I have them at a young age and can follow their elementary career and maintain a relationship with them throughout those years.
