Weatherford ISD Head Theatre Director Angela Arthurs said the students gave their best performance and were fantastic.
"Although it was a very long day, it was a great day of theatre in one of the hardest districts in the state," Arthurs said.
This year's advancing shows included Paschal, first place; Arlington Martin, second place; and Arlington High, third place.
WHS students Rachel Keith and Paulie Cocke brought home honorable mention cast awards.
Also, Arthurs said that Cole Lucas has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor following last weekend's announcements of the Dallas Summer Musical High School Musical Awards. The awards ceremony is scheduled for April 29.
