Three WHS students named to the Texas All-State Choirs

Holguin was named to the Texas All-State Mixed Chorus (second chair, soprano), and she was also named to the Texas All-State Women's Chorus.

Both Hatch (seventh chair, first alto) and Ward (ninth chair, first alto) were also named to the Texas All-State Women's Chorus.

This year, over 15,000 students across the state began the audition process to become a member of the All-State Choir. Our students were competing for only 576 seats in one of the state’s three largest Large School All-State Choirs.

Each year, 10 ladies and eight men are selected from each section to make up Texas All-State Choirs. The top four men’s and women’s seats make up the Texas All-State Mixed Choir, and the remainder of the selections make up both the Texas All-State Men’s Choir and Texas All-State Women’s Choir.

The WISD Choral Director is Ronnie Chestnut.
