Blankenship's first-place entry was titled, "Dinner Time," and is featured on the Get to Know website (click HERE to visit website).
The Get to Know Program has been inspiring connections between children and nature in the outdoors for over a decade. The organization was founded in 1999 by renowned naturalist and painter Robert Bateman and current director Mary Krupa-Clark in Kelowna, BC, with the dream that children would have opportunities to get to know the names of their wild neighbors.
Get to Know’s mandate is to promote environmental education in order to raise a generation of citizens who are inherently aware of their impact on the environment and how their positive interaction with their local wildlife can help preserve these natural wonders for generations to come.
