WHS Freshman “B” Team
Arlington Sam Houston – 28
Weatherford – 12
The B team scored on a quarterback sneak by Brett Blevins and on a 60-yard pass from Blevins to Dylan Lippard. Evan White played very well on offense and on defense. Justin Jones also had a nice catch for a first down.
WHS Freshman “A” Team
Weatherford – 46
Arlington Sam Houston - 14
The A team was led by Corban Campbell with 4 rushing touchdowns. Cody Henderson, Ethan Irsik, and Adrian Jones also finished the game with one touchdown apiece. Nick Hale, Jeremiah Hatfield, Will Key, Jerod Ford, and Nick Garcia did a great job blocking on the offensive line.
Defensively, the Roos had two turnovers. Garin Thanpaisarnsamut had an interception and Tim Parker recovered a fumble. Cody Dunson and Jeremiah Hatfield stood out defensively.
The WHS freshmen teams travel to Arlington Lamar on Oct. 30. The "B" team game is set for 6 p.m., followed by the "A" team matchup.
WHS Junior Varsity Team
Weatherford – 26
Arlington Sam Houston – 24
Hayden Ekas threw two touchdown passes - one to Ryan Carper, and the other to Stanley Merchant. Devin James and Josh Mason each scored a touchdown as well. The Roo defense came up with a big stop in the last minute of the game.
The JV Roos host Arlington Lamar on Oct. 30 at Roo Stadium. Kick off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
