Weatherford Fire Department teaches fire prevention at WISD elementary campuses

Using a pirates theme, WFD personnel used illustrations and songs to help students remember what they need to do in case of a fire - like run to a safe place outside; call 9-1-1; or stop, drop and roll.
Also, students learned that batteries inside smoke detectors need to be replaced twice a year (possible during the time changes), and they need to be tested at least once a month.

WFD members will be traveling to each Weatherford ISD elementary campus throughout the remainder of the week providing students with the same fire safety and prevention lessons.
