37 WHS students attend 'Ag Awareness Day' at State Fair of Texas

Every student supported the North Texas Food Bank by bringing at least one canned good to the fair.

Students were able to view the winning entries for different competitions such as, canning, cooking, photography and art.  They also got to experience the reason why the State Fair is called the "Fried Food Capital of Texas," by tasting foods such as fried shrimp boil, fried grilled cheese and funnel cakes.

Students had the opportunity to view cooking demonstrations and livestock exhibits.  They also were able to speak to entrepreneurs from small businesses to see their success stories.
