The Freshman “B” team defeated Arlington Bowie in two games on Friday. Nancy Lara and Scye Dreadin led the defense with multiple digs and great communication.
Freshman “A” Team
Weatherford def. Arlington Bowie, 25-22, 25-16
The Freshman “A” team defeated Arlington Bowie in straight games on Friday. Lauren Roper led the Lady Roos with 3 kills, and Lane Wilsky had 5 digs.
Junior Varsity
Weatherford def. Arlington Bowie
Weatherford’s junior varsity team beat Arlington Bowie in 3 games to improve its district record to 3-4. Taylor Kuritz had strong outside play and Lorena commanded the defense.
Varsity
Arlington Bowie def. Weatherford, 29-27, 15-25, 25-11, 17-25, 15-11
The Varsity Lady Roos lost in a heartbreaker on Friday night. Weatherford’s leading attacker was Maddie Dorris with 11 kills and Kaylen Couch led the defense with 23 digs.
WHS Head Coach Natalie Gonzales said that she was proud that her kids stayed in the fight all the way through the fifth game.
Weatherford hosts Arlington on Tuesday to begin the second round of District 6-4A competition.
