Hall Middle School Seventh Grade Football Reports vs. Burleson Kerr

Seventh Grade “C” Team
Although Hall Middle School’s seventh grade “C” team came out ready to play during its first game of the season, the Roos fell short, 28-0.

Weatherford’s defense stopped Kerr short on its first couple of drives, but failed to stop them from scoring to end the first half. Despite some good runs by Jacob Seglem and Korey Chestnut, the Roos were unable to get anything going on offense.

Seventh Grade “B” Team
The “B” team came out ready to get things started with a big run from Chase Dunson. Even though the team was able to put a good drive together, it was unable to score.

The teams went back and forth until Kerr was able to break a big run for a score. Although the Roos fought hard, they lost the contest, 12-0.

Seventh Grade “A” Team
The “A” team wanted to prove that they were ready to play. The Roos’ defense allowed an early drive that allowed Kerr to score first, but the players stepped up and stopped the 2-point conversion attempt.

Coming out of a 6-0 deficit at the half, Weatherford’s defense stepped up and put up some big plays that stopped Kerr short on every play. It all started when Joshua Kerfoot hit the running back in the backfield, allowing Ezekiel Baker to strip the ball and run 45 yards for a touchdown. Rey Huang ran it in for the 2-point conversion adding to his other big runs.

Weatherford also had some big runs from Carlos Olivares, but it was the defense that stepped up and held the Kerr offense in check for the rest of the game.

The Roos had one more big defensive stand in the final minutes of the game to secure the win, 8-6.
