WHS head tennis coach Keeley McLarty said the No. 1 boys doubles team of Preston Spivey and Dakota Thompson played an incredible match but fell short in the end, 4-6, 4-6. Thompson also played a tough No. 2 singles match before losing the pro set, 6-8.
Jacob Bowman and John Edwards lost their No. 2 doubles match, 4-6, 4-6; and the No. 3 doubles team of Michael Sallaz and Justin Hodges lost their first set in a tiebreaker and the second set 5-7.
McLarty also said the No. 3 girls doubles team of Willow Griffith and Morgan Messinger played an extremely close match as well.
The Roo wins came from the mixed doubles team of Lane Guest and Gaby DeLeon and from Collin Martin at the No. 5 singles spot.
Weatherford will host last year's district champions, North Crowley, on Tuesday beginning at 4 p.m.
