Freshmen football teams split games with Grapevine

Freshman 'A' Game Report
Weatherford's freshman "B" team's late comeback fell a little short as the Roos dropped the nightcap, 17-14.
Grapevine jumped out to an early 9-0 lead in the first half before Weatherford's Corban Campbell and the Kangaroo offense struck on the first play of the third quarter when Ethan Irsik took the ball 70 yards for a touchdown.
Later in the third quarter, Campbell hooked up with Dominic Davi for a 40-yard touchdown reception.
Campbell's pass attempt to London Williams on a fourth-and-long play on the Roos' final possession fell short as the Roos ran out of time.

Freshman 'B' Game Report
Weatherford's freshman "A" team took part in a defensive battle as the Roos hung on to a 2-0 win.
The Kangaroo defense continued to swarm Grapevine's offensive attack, and the hustle paid off after the Roos dropped Grapevine's running back in the end zone for a safety - which turned out to be the only score of the contest.
Weatherford's defense was led by Timothy Kuritz, Thomas Magill, and Javaughn Bellard. Magill also had two interceptions in the game.
