LADY ROOS VOLLEYBALL VS CLEBURNE YELLOWJACKETS 8/26/14

Varsity:

The Lady Roos played an outstanding heart felt game tonight against the Cleburne Yellowjackets. To say it was just exciting would be an understatement!! The fans on both sides of the gym were outstanding keeping the kids pumped to get the job done. Game 1 was a battle until point 20 when the Roos went on a 5-0 run to finish the game 25-20. Game 2 the roos got down 9-3 right off the bat, fought hard but came up short 20-25. Game 3 was CRAZY! Both teams stayed neck and neck truly make each team earn every point. Maddie Dorris was a beast at the net and scored the last two points of the game with back to back blocks; score was 27-25. Game 4 we got down again 8-3 quick and fought hard to come back but just started alittle to late; score was 21-25. All tied up and heading to the quick 5th and final game the lady roos jumped out to a 4-0 lead with freshmen Kaitlyn Rogers serving.  The Yellowjackets weren't going to roll over though as it was a serious battle.  Sarah Schwartz and Ashleigh Erb's offense from the outside couldn't be matched! It came down to the wire,  Sarah Schwartz was up to serve and she and the lady roos put the game away 15-12. 

 

Sarah and Maddie both had 7 kills

Ashleigh and Kaitlyn both had 10 kills

Erin Rhiney added 13 digs and Jericka Graves had 22.

Kaitlyn had 22 asssists and Carissa had 19.

 

The Lady Roos play in the San Marcos tournament this Thursday - Saturday.  Goo Roos!!!

 

JV:

JV lady roos defeated cleburne 25-17, 29-31, 25-22. Games were all super close but the roos played tough the entire game! Ellie Larvin played awesome at the net and Paige Hudson added some great serves! The JV lady roos are now 3-0!!

 

 9th A:

The Lady Roo Freshman A team defeated Cleburne tonight in two games. (25-14  25-19) Makenna Rhoads was on fire with her serving and Layne Wilsky was a digging machine tonight.


9th B:

The Weatherford High School Freshman B team faced Cleburne High Tuesday. The Lady Roos came away victorious 25-19 in game 1, then again 25-14 in game two. The girls faced adversity and came from behind to win game 1. Alyssa Bagwell finished off game one with 3 ace serves. Gabriella Briggs finished the second game with 2 ace serves and 4 kills. The Lady Roos play again next Tuesday.
