WISD staff celebrate 2014 Convocation, Vendor Fair

The event began early Thursday morning with the largest Vendor Fair to date. More than 70 vendors were on hand to talk about their business or industry, sell custom Roo items or other homemade products.

Following the Vendor Fair, the participants moved their way into the Durant Auditorium for Weatherford ISD Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Hanks' message for the 2014-15 school year.

Also, featured keynote speaker Kevin Tutt of Tutt & Daggs Creative Performance Improvement entertained the crowd with an inspiring message about the different types of generations that society is made up of - Baby Boomers (1945-1964), Generation X (1961-1981), and the Millennial Generation (1975-1995).

Tutt also reminded the audience that today's students learn and behave differently, and he gave examples of how this is true such as riding a bicycle for the first time, using a cell phone, etc.

Dr. Hanks also highlighted some positive accomplishments from each of the District's 11 campuses, and the event ended with all the campus principals (and Dr. Hanks) accepting the ASL Ice Bucket Challenge.
