Former WHS baseball standout to play in 80th Annual National Baseball Congress World Series

The NBC World Series – held at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium since 1935 – attracts amateur and national baseball teams from across the globe to compete in a two-week tournament. Receiving an automatic bid in the 16 team, double-elimination championship bracket, the national team will await Thursday’s conclusion of the qualifying bracket to find out when their first game is and who they will face.

Sporting the stars and stripes will be 26 student-athletes from 22 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) member colleges.

Reynolds graduated from Weatherford High School in 2012 after earning All-State honors in his junior and senior seasons and All-District accolades in three consecutive years for the Kangaroos.

He moved on to WC and started two years at third base for the Coyotes, earning first team All-Conference honors as a sophomore.  He hit .361 with 69 hits, 54 RBIs and nine home runs during the 2014 season.

Reynolds is one of 18 NCAA Division I signees on the USA team.  He has signed to continue his education and his baseball career at Dallas Baptist University, a program that has advanced to the Regional Tournament in three of the past four years.
