Severe Weather Safety

Dear Weatherford ISD Parents,

With this afternoon's forecast calling for thunderstorms, lightning, and possible flash flooding, we will be closely monitoring weather conditions throughout the afternoon. All campuses are equipped with weather radios and two-way radios that enable district officials to communicate with each campus at all times, even in the event of a power outage.

In the event a severe weather warning (such as lightning) is in progress at our school release time, we will hold all students in the building until the threat is lifted. In this situation, we will hold the buses, so no students and staff are outside loading up. As a result, bus transportation may be delayed.

Should it become necessary to notify parents during a severe weather event, we will use our automated calling system and text notification process.
