Sgt. Johnson told the students they did not know how much he and his squadron appreciated all of the donated snack items, and the plaque he presented to the Junior Optimist Club members included both a U.S. flag and Afghanistan flag that had flown inside an aircraft during a drone mission.
Sgt. Johnson now lives in Minnesota and is a member of the 62nd Expeditionary Reconnaissance Squadron, Detachment 1 Operating Base Fenty.
