They will also advance to the state contest. The team is made up of all freshmen FFA students: Abby Davis, Maggie Glenn, and Levi Schutz.
Coming in third place were the Senior Skills and the Senior Chapter Conducting Teams. Members of the Senior Skills team are Clayton Adair, Mitch Hamiter, Paulie Cocke, and Colton Hard. The Senior Chapter Conducting team presents a mock meeting using correct parliamentary procedure laws and was made up of students Jada Fraser, Alex Adair, Shaley Rudolph, Morgan Kieffer, Clayton Adair, Landrey Edwards, Alex Hammett, and Paulie Cocke.
The Agriculture Agvocacy contest is in its inaugural year, and the team had great success with their presentation over a wholesome food supply with a 5th place finish at area. FFA members Jake Beaird, Waylon Wilder, Grace Hardey, Mary Smith, and Korleyan Khem made up the Agriculture Issues Forum and gave a presentation over cloning in the Equine industry. They are a young team, being all freshmen, and finished an impressive 9th place.
Leadership Development Events focus on creating situations for members to demonstrate their abilities in public speaking, decision making, communication and their knowledge of agriculture and the FFA organization. Team and individual events are used to reinforce what is taught in agricultural science classrooms. Teams are coached by Weatherford FFA Advisors Mr. K.C. Kemp, Mrs. Amber Jennings, and Mrs. Jesse Medlin.
