WISD Going Green Initiative

The “Going Green” initiative in Weatherford ISD is saving dollars! Our energy efficiency program has resulted in over $2.7 million in cost savings and cost avoidance of utility expenses since August 2019.

In addition to internal processes designed to save energy, Weatherford ISD has worked closely with Cenergistic engineers, experts, and energy specialists to audit and optimize energy using systems across the district to achieve healthier, more energy efficient buildings.

“Our school board is committed to being fiscally responsible and that includes the effective and efficient use of utilities,” said Dr. Beau Rees, Superintendent of Schools. “Going Green in Weatherford ISD has resulted in a long-standing cost savings and is a direct result of the efforts of our staff to follow processes that help us conserve energy across the district.”
