WISD Board of Trustees Calls November 2025 Bond Election

The Weatherford Independent School District Board of Trustees has unanimously called for a bond election to be held on Nov. 4, 2025, for voter consideration. The proposal is based on recommendations from the community-led Facility Advisory of Citizens, Teachers, and Students (FACTS) Committee, following several months of study and review of district facilities and programs. The board approved the election order during its Aug. 18 meeting.

The $189,325,611 bond proposal is divided into the following 3 propositions:

Proposition A ($68,677,483):
  • 9th Grade Center Renovations & CTE Center Additions

Proposition B ($79,176,007):
  • Safety & Security
  • Lifecycle & Infrastructure Improvements
  • Learning Environment Improvements

Proposition C ($41,472,121):
  • Crockett Elementary School – Major Renovation (Includes Employee Childcare Center)
  • Ag Barn - Additions and Renovation

Bond Election Background

Weatherford ISD conducted a comprehensive review of its infrastructure and facilities to identify priorities for consideration in the bond proposal. The process included evaluating the condition and capacity of existing buildings and identifying areas where repairs or upgrades may be needed.

The FACTS Committee — composed of parents and non-parents, young adults and senior citizens, teachers, business owners, and community leaders — reviewed information related to enrollment trends, facility conditions, district goals, and projected costs and tax implications for Weatherford ISD residents.

Due to strong fiscal management and the early payoff of past debt, the projects in the proposed bond can be funded without raising taxes. In fact, Weatherford ISD’s tax rate will decrease by approximately 9 cents as a result of these efforts. The district has positioned itself financially by continuing to lower the tax rate and paying off past voter-approved debt early.
